PLEASE NOTE: THE VENUE FOR THIS EVENT HAS CHANGED.
For many decades Professor Des Ball was a linchpin of Myanmar focussed research at the Australian National University. His studies of the Myanmar-Thailand borderlands, captured in four major books and many other publications, were utterly unique.
Many people involved with studying Myanmar in Canberra, across Australia, throughout Southeast Asia, and, indeed, right around the world, have benefited from his scholarly output.
The University will be paying tribute to Des, and acknowledging his family, at a memorial service on Tuesday, 22 November 2016, starting at 10 am in Llewellyn Hall on the ANU campus. We hope that many of you can join us for what will be a celebration of Des’ life and work.
You can confirm your attendance at this link.
Please note: this event will be held in Llewellyn Hall, ANU School of Music.
