2023 MRC Early Career Researchers Workshop Working Papers
On 20 July 2023, the ANU Myanmar Research Centre held a workshop for Early Career Researchers (ECRs) on Myanmar studies since the 2021 coup.
This workshop brought together early career researchers and PhD scholars of Myanmar to share experiences and lessons learned regarding fieldwork, methods, research, and writing since the February 2021 coup.
The sessions addressed fieldwork and data generation, researching at a geographic distance, ethics, policy engagement, and new challenges for those wanting to speak, write and publish about Myanmar.
The ANU Myanmar Research Centre will provide ongoing support to participants who are interested in submitting a paper to the working paper series or sharing their research as part of the MRC Dialogue Series.

2021 MRC Early Career Researchers Workshop Working Papers
On 9 and 10 December 2021, the ANU Myanmar Research Centre held a workshop for Early Career Researchers (ECRs) on the general theme of how to conduct research in Myanmar in the wake of the 2021 military coup.
Workshop sessions focused primarily on research ethics and research methods for conflict situations and complex political environments. Attendees consisted primarily of Myanmar studies students at Australian universities and ECRs in Australia who research Myanmar.
Workshop participants were encouraged to prepare working papers based on their own research and on the themes covered by the workshop. We are now proud to present the first three working papers in this new series.
Over the course of 2022, we expect several more working papers to be completed for dissemination through the ANU Myanmar Research Centre.

တက်သစ်စသုတေသီများ၏ မြန်မာနှင့် အင်္ဂလိပ်နှစ်ဘာသာဖြင့် ပြုစုထားသောသုတေသနစာတမ်းများကို ဂုဏ်ယူစွာ ဖြန့်ဝေလိုက်ပါသည်။ ၂၀၂၁ ခုနှစ် ဒီဇင်ဘာလ ၉ ရက်နှင့် ၁၀ ရက်နေ့များတွင် ANU မြန်မာ့ရေးရာသုတေသနဌာန၌ တက်သစ်စသုတေသီများ (Early Career Researchers) များအတွက် ၂၀၂၁ ခုနှစ် စစ်တပ်အာဏာသိမ်းပြီးနောက် မြန်မာနိုင်ငံတွင် သုတေသနပြုလုပ်နည်း အထွေထွေခေါင်းစဉ်ဖြင့် အလုပ်ရုံဆွေးနွေးပွဲတခုကို ကျင်းပခဲ့ပါသည်။ အလုပ်ရုံ၏ အဓိကဦးစားပေးဆွေးနွေးမှုများမှာ ပဋိပက္ခအခြေအနေများနှင့် ရှုပ်ထွေးသော နိုင်ငံရေးရပ်ဝန်းများအတွက်လိုအပ်သော သုတေသနကျင့်ဝတ်များနှင့် သုတေသနနည်းလမ်းများဖြစ်သည်။ တက်ရောက်သူများမှာ မြန်မာနိုင်ငံအကြောင်း လေ့လာနေကြသော သြစတြေးလျနိုင်ငံရှိ တက္ကသိုလ်များနှင့် သြစတြေးလျနိုင်ငံရှိ ECRs များ အဓိကပါဝင်ကြသည်။ အလုပ်ရုံဆွေးနွေးပွဲသို့ တက်ရောက်လာသူများအား ၎င်းတို့၏ ကိုယ်ပိုင်သုတေသနနှင့် အလုပ်ရုံဆွေးနွေးပွဲတွင် ဖော်ပြထားသော အကြောင်းအရာများပေါ်တွင် အခြေခံ၍ စာတမ်းများရေးသားကြရန် အားပေးခဲ့ပါသည်။ ယခုစီးရီးသစ်တွင် သုတေသနပြုလက်စ ပထမဆုံးစာတမ်းသုံးစောင်ကို ဂုဏ်ယူစွာဖြင့် ဖော်ပြလိုက်ပါသည်။ ၂၀၂၂ ခုနှစ်အတွင်း သုတေသနပြုလက်စစာတမ်းများစွာ ထပ်မံပီးမြောက်ပြီး ANU မြန်မာ့ရေးရာသုတေသနဌာနမှတဆင့် ဖြန့်ဝေနိုင်ရန်လည်း မျှော်လင့်ပါသည်။
